The Department of English was established in the year 1971. English being the core and compulsory subject, the department came into being with the establishment of the college. Since its inception, the department has been playing an important role in the terms of teaching - learning, evaluation and assessment of the learners of the Undergraduate and Higher Secondary level and will continue to contribute for the academic development of the college. The department of English with its competent and dedicated faculty members offers Honours course to its enrolled learners. It conducts departmental seminars, group discussions,etc., for the learners offering English as their Major subject. The department of English plays a vital role in contributing to the academic and cultural life of the people of the region and its surrounding areas.
